Practicality is usually the case
Know why there are so many fewer clinical studies of LSD than other psychedelics (not talking ibogaine; that’s another issue)? Because it lasts so long and most lab employees just won’t/can’t stay that long. Seriously.
Jung said it best
Parents should always be conscious of the fact that they themselves are the principal cause of neurosis in their children … Children are driven unconsciously in a direction that is intended to compensate for everything that was left unfulfilled in the lives of their parents.
Cannot kill this spirit, otherworldly things do not die
I will live, even if life betrays me and I will dream, even if dreams abandon me.
I have no definite talent or trade, and how I stay alive is largely a matter of magic.
You're probably underestimating your ability to innovate and your capacity for enduring hardship.
When potatoes were first discovered/invented, there were 30+ varieties and all of them were toxic.
They needed to eat clay alongside the potatoes to bind the toxins.

This was quite obvious when you’d dig into the people that were pushing the "it fades" trope.
Yeah it fades for YOU.
Like everything else YOU have ever gotten involved in.

People become so myopic with their spreadsheets and forget the fact there are things that cannot be measured. They never show up on a balance sheet, and when they go you’ll never quite know

I have little sympathy for the mathematicians crying about ai compressing their identities. You were warned, your hubris led you to think you were doing something a machine could never.
Welcome to the real world, schools finished.
I trust most of them will be fine, even if they don’t know it yet but not tolerating the crying.
Check the proof the machine spit out in the mean time, thank you

Game theory explains why recovery attempts frequently do more damage than the original downfall.
Your instinct will always be to erase the mistake in one fell swoop: the one genius move that puts everything back tonight.
This feels like ambition and decisiveness, yet it's deeply insidious. Almost every game worth being in is "iterated," which means that it consists of various rounds that impact each other. Recovery is usually reserved for later rounds, not this one. The "last gamble" has the drawback that failing it increases the danger of being totally eliminated. So, this last act gambles away the only thing that makes recovery even possible.
This is akin to amputating an arm to treat an infected finger. Stop the bleeding first, then plan afterward. Fix your losses in the next round, not this one.
